Escalator Instant Access

The Escalator account is a straightforward account suitable for a wide range of Escalator brochuresavings needs, offering total flexibility by enabling you to pay in and withdraw money when you wish without losing a penny of interest!

You only need £100 to open an Escalator account. To help your savings grow faster, there are several tiers of interest - so the more you save, the more you earn!

As you move through the tiers you will automatically earn the higher rate of interest on all of your savings. There couldn't be an easier way to watch your investment grow.

You can pay either cash or cheques into your account whenever you wish. You will be surprised how quickly your balance grows. Half the pleasure in saving is looking forward to spending the money, whether it is on a holiday, a car or a gift for someone special.

You are welcome to make regular payments into your Escalator account - just ask for details at your local Branch. Cheques that you pay in take seven working days to clear although you will earn interest from the day after receipt.

A passbook will give you a record of the transactions that you have carried out. Please present it every time you pay into your account or make a withdrawal.

Cheques should be made payable to the account holder or "Harpenden Building Society re account holder's name or account number".

You can make withdrawals from your Escalator account instantly and without penalty. Up to £250 in cash per day may be withdrawn from your local Branch or Agency office. The maximum amount that can be withdrawn by cheque is £10,000 each day. To maintain the account, a minimum balance of £100 is required. If you would like a cheque for a larger amount, please let your usual Branch know in advance as special arrangements may need to be made.

Please ensure that you provide sufficient identification to enable your account to be opened.
