Can I operate my account by post?
Yes - and it's a completely free service. We will supply you with a Postal Service form and first-class postage paid envelopes should you wish to use this service. Alternatively, you can just mail your passbook and cheque(s) to us. We strongly advise you not to send cash by post as we cannot accept liability for any loss.
Can I operate my account via the internet?
No, we do not currently offer this service. However, this may be a possibility in the future.

Can I make regular payments into my account?
Yes, if you wish to set up a standing order from your bank into an account with the Society you will need to quote the following details to your bank:
Sort Code: 40-23-11
Account: 01246356
Reference: Quote the 10 digit account number in your passbook.

Please check the account terms and conditions as is it not possible to make additional payments into some types of account.

How often do I need to complete an Inland Revenue R85 form?
The Inland Revenue require a completed R85 form for each account held. This form only needs to be completed once. It is your responsibility to notify us of any changes to your tax status should you no longer be eligible to receive your interest tax free.

Please note that if you have completed an R85 form as a parent or guardian for a child under the age of 16, this will only remain in force until the date of their 16th birthday. At this stage the account holder will be required to complete an R85 form in their own right.
I am a non-taxpayer, how do I receive my interest gross?
In order to receive your interest gross you are required to complete an Inland Revenue R85 form. To obtain a copy of this form you can download a copy from the Inland Revenue's website. Or if you prefer you can contact your local Branch by telephone or email and we will post one to you.
I am resident abroad, can I open an account?
No, we are not able to open accounts for non U.K. residents.

I am moving abroad, can I keep my accounts?
Any accounts that you currently hold with us can remain open, however, you must let us know that you are no longer a U.K. resident so that we can amend our records.

If you hold a Cash ISA, the account will remain open and you will continue to receive tax benefits but you may not be eligible to make further subscriptions to your account. Please check the account terms and conditions.

I have changed my name, what should I do?
We will require your confirmation in writing together with either the original or certified copy of the documentation detailing your change of name. Alternatively, you can download a Change of Name form.
I've lost my passbook, what should I do?
If your passbook has been lost or stolen, please let us know immediately. A fee will be charged for a replacement passbook which will be issued seven days after receipt of your notification of loss.
I've moved house, how should I notify you?
You can either write to us with details of your new address or you can download a Change of Address form.
What happens if my balance falls below the account limit?
All of our accounts have minimum investment limits. If you are unable to maintain this minimum balance then we will provide you with details of alternative accounts and transfer your remaining funds if required.
